IMPORTANT: THIS DOCUMENT CONTAINS A WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY. BY REGISTERING, YOU ARE WAIVING CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE.

HB Social is a private, volunteer-run social club exclusively for residents of the Hickory Bluffs community and their invited guests. HB Social is independent of and unaffiliated with the Hickory Bluffs Homeowners Association (hereinafter “HOA”). The HOA has no control, authority, or responsibility over HB Social and HB Social is a fully independent entity that is not affiliated with the HOA. HB Social fully holds the HOA harmless and indemnifies the HOA from any future claims made by Participants and its occupants and guests.


1. Mission Statement

HB Social is a resident-led initiative dedicated to bringing fresh excitement, joy, and connection to our Hickory Bluffs 55+ community. HB Social is operated as an unaffiliated, independent no-fee “club” separate from the Hickory Bluffs HOA.

The Events page is the heart of HB Social. Here you’ll find our off-campus events as well as activities and happenings throughout Canton and beyond. These events are the main purpose and driver of the website.

Through our Prime Perks merchant program, we partner with local businesses to offer exclusive discounts and specials available only to verified Hickory Bluffs residents. It is important to take advantage of these Prime Perks coupons because the revenue from merchant advertising goes right back into creating great events and activities for our community. The more we use the offers, the stronger the relationships and confidence we build with the merchants — allowing us to bring even more value and memorable experiences to all residents.

Some activities are already calendared and underway, with many more to come as we build together. We warmly invite any resident with an event idea or suggestion to collaborate with the HB Social team to help turn it into reality.

2. Volunteer Supported Entity

HB Social is a volunteer-run social entity independent of the Hickory Bluffs community and is unaffiliated with the HOA. All people associated with HB Social are unpaid volunteers donating their time and efforts.


3. Assumption of Risk

Participant is aware that the activities conducted as a part of Participant’s membership with HB Social may include strenuous exercise, including but not limited to, hiking, biking, kayaking, walking, outdoor excursions, group outings, travel to and from venues, and other recreational and social experiences that occur away from the Hickory Bluffs community. Participant voluntarily and expressly assumes all risks, known and unknown, including injury, death, property damage, transportation risks, and third-party risks, including negligence and gross negligence of Participant or another party. Participant and his/her residence occupants and/or invited guests are agreeing to participation voluntarily and understands the risks of any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, carpooling and transportation risks, risks associated with any venue, vendor or third party provider, death, loss or damage that may occur from or participation in the activities of HB Social and Participant’s membership therein.


4. Transportation Disclaimer

All transportation is at Participant’s own risk. HB Social provides no transportation to or from events outside of Hickory Bluffs neighborhood and assumes no liability. Any carpooling or rideshare of Participants, residence occupants or Participant’s guests shall be at their own risk and fully disclaims and indemnifies HB Social.


5. Release of Liability

Participant releases HB Social from all claims, including claims arising from negligence or gross negligence.


6. Limitation

This waiver applies to the fullest extent permitted by Georgia law. Should any Georgia court determine that any portions of this Agreement shall not apply, the remaining provisions of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.


7. Indemnification

A. Participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless HB Social and the Hickory Bluffs Homeowners Association, including attorney’s fees. HB Social expressly conveys that it is an independent entity from and unaffiliated with the Hickory Bluffs Homeowners Association. HB Social further indemnifies and holds harmless the Hickory Bluffs Homeowners Association and makes no claims to be associated with the HOA.

B. The volunteers of HB Social act solely in good-faith and are fully released from any claims, demands, or liability related to event planning, organization, or cancellation of events. No volunteer, organizer or HB Social member shall be held personally responsible or liable for any cancellation, change, or inconvenience.


8. Photo & Media Release

Participant, residence occupants and his/her guests grant permission for use of photos and videos from any HB Social event for which they are registered for without compensation. HB Social maintains the right to utilize the photos and/or videos from the event at HB Social’s discretion on its printed and social media materials.


9. Event Funds

All funds collected shall be put toward the event that Participant and his/her residence occupants and/or guests have registered for. Should the event be cancelled by the third-party event host or by HB Social for insufficient registrations, the Participant, residence occupants and/or guests shall be refunded or their registration funds applied to a future event, at the choice of the Participant. If Participant does not convey decision to HB Social after one week, the registration funds shall be held for a future event of Participant’s choosing. No refunds will be issued for any non-refundable third-party costs unless recovered by HB Social.


10. Arbitration

After a good-faith discussion by all parties, if the parties cannot reach an informal resolution, the Participant and any other household occupants or residents shall be required to arbitrate. Participant waives the right to a jury trial.


11. Governing Law

This Agreement and the application and interpretation thereof shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the State of Georgia.


12. Acknowledgment of Residency & Access

By submitting an event registration form on this website, you acknowledge the following:

1. I confirm that I (and any household member I am registering) am a verified resident of the 55+ community. I understand that events are hidden until registration is complete and this agreement is accepted, and that this process is used solely to confirm residency.

2. I have read, fully understand, and voluntarily agree to all of the above Terms & Conditions and the Participant Waiver, Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk & Indemnity Agreement for SB Social.

3. Participant desires to voluntarily participate in HB Social membership and some or all off-property events, outings and activities and has hereunto affixed his/her initials to the preceding pages and he/she hereby acknowledges that the provisions of this HB Social Agreement shall be binding upon his/her heirs, assigns, administrators, next of kin, respective household residents, occupants and/or guests living or visiting that of his/her home address, as of the date of registration (on file and available upon request).
